The Estée Edit Box Review

The Estée Edit Box Review

Oh boy, I have been waiting a hot minute to get my hands on these fresh goodies from Estée Lauder, and I am dying to share them with you all!

Estée Lauder’s new line of cosmetics features 82 products that will give you #selfie worthy skin that will last through the night. I was sent 4 of these amazing products complimentary of The Estee Edit and I’ve had fun playing around with them. I’ve included links for these, but you can find the rest exclusively at Sephora! I’ve written my reviews in the order I applied the products, and all of them were used in one sitting. But I recommend experimenting with each of the face products alone first to get the most out of them. I’ll elaborate on this below!

“An easy, glide-on stick to blur the look of pores and minimize shine and oil. Use alone, as a primer, or over makeup any time of day.”

This product is so easy to use, and resembles the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation stick in form and application. But this pore minimizing genie is so much more! I chose to apply this before any other product, swiping the stick somewhat sparingly and blending lightly with my fingers. It feels like a light veil that smooths your skin into porcelain perfection. The visual effect is very subtle, but once you apply primer and foundation on top, it provides an even canvas that photographs better than any filter; so no need to fear the flash on your girls’ night out!

“A two-in-one hydrating cream for a luminous glow. “

This next product is really cool, in packaging and formula! It features a super shimmery highlighter in a bronzey-gold right in the flip-cap that you can swipe on your cheekbones, nose, and chin for a quick and beautiful glow. The cream itself is very thick, and is a light peachy color that boasts a nice shimmer and hydrating formula. I found that the Beam Team has a pink undertone, a little opposing to my yellow-undertone light olive skin. But I loved the moisturizing feeling it added to my cheeks and I definitely saw a natural glow to my face instantly. I applied this on top  of primer and before my regular foundation using a stipple brush (later I realized I misread the directions lol ). For a casual day look, look no further than the Beam Team! I think using your fingers or possibly a cosmetic sponge might be easier, emphasis on the thickness of this cream!

“A complexion hybrid that pairs hydrating skincare ingredients with instant illumination.”

So I was beginning to see a trend in the Estee Edit products, as in a “you must read the directions fully and carefully” kind of trend. The hybrid aspect of the face products means you can use them in multiple different ways to get different light-catching effects, but this also means that the directions change for each effect you desire. So my strong advice is to read the full directions (which are on the Sephora website) and then decide which way you want to apply the product. A bit more complicated than slabbing on some primer, but you will most likely save time in your beauty routine by replacing a couple of your regulars with one of these bad boys. Okay on to the Flash Illuminator! I applied this light-loving liquid on top of my foundation to my cheekbones, nose, forehead, and chin. I was definitely glowing more under the light, and it felt very light. You could layer this product as you please. For a night out or a photo-friendly look, this is the product for you! It comes in a couple different shades that are universally skin-tone friendly. The one I received gives you “golden glowing highlights” but I ended up using my regular highlighter afterwards as well.

“A lipstick/lip balm hybrid with muru muru butter and real flower petal waxes for a baby-soft nude lip look.”

The first impression of this lipstick is the impressive container, it reminded me of armor! I appreciated that I could trust the cap not to come off in my purse, unlike some of my faves that are now covered in crumbs (note to self: stop putting food in purse). Unfortunately, my expectations of a neutral brown shade that might actually give me that Kylie Jenner nude lip fell flat against thin layers of plum-brown that felt too old for me. It could have been the slight glossy finish, or the need to layer the lipstick to achieve a noticeable color, but I will look into their matte lipsticks from this line before I go back to “In The Buff.”IMG_1728

My favorites were the Pore Vanishing Stick and Beam Team Hydrate + Glow. I was really happy with how my makeup turned out and I feel like I have these two products to thank! My makeup has never photographed better and it looked amazing in natural light, for hours on a hot summer day. So far I’m impressed with these new products and I wanna know what Estee Edit products you are excited to try
